The Inaguration

pic from CNN.com

Today we got to watch history.

It was nice having the district cancel school today so I could watch the inauguration without distraction. I was able to watch on TV, while at the same time participating on the CNN/Facebook event. It was neat watching the responses of people as they watched the event. Both positive and negative responses, but for the most part people seemed hopeful for the future. I know I sure wouldn't want the job that lays ahead for Obama.

Friday Night at Beef's

It was a long weekend with the girls. Love them long weekends. This weekend was especially nice, half day with students on Thursday, a workday with no students and no meetings on Friday, and to top it all off....no school on Monday. Sara dropped the girls off at school around 2 on Friday. We hung out, cleaned my office and left by 3:15. Went home and got ready to go to Beef's for dinner and Trivia. I kept Abby entertained with my phone and some kinda chocolate cake, and Grace....well Ann kept her entertained with a drawing competition. Grace won, but you gotta give Ann credit for trying. Here are the pictures you be the judge. Ann's pictures are on the left and Grace's are on the right. As if I needed to tell you that.

A Couple of Days at the Beach

Okay. . .it sounded like a good idea. Head to the beach for three nights, with the kids. All four of them plus 1 (Will brought his girlfriend). Seven people in a camper, no problem. It was going to be great. We had two TV's for the bowl games, indoor swimming pool, lots of food and snacks,( and enough of the adult beverages for me an Ann to keep our sanity!) it was going to be a great time. Well, it really was no problem. A little tight, but not too bad.

We stayed at Myrtle Beach Travel Park, again. I think this made like the 6th time we've stayed there. It would have been a better trip had it not gotten so cold. One night it went down to 24, and then only went up to like the mid 40's with 15-20 mph wind. We were stuck inside, thank god for shopping and an indoor pool. Ann, went with the older kids shopping while I went to the indoor pool with Abby and Grace.

Highlights of the Trip: The Gamecocks got blown out so that meant it was easy to leave and go swimming with Grace. The Clemson Tigers got beat. . . we enjoyed that but Ansley didn't. Watching, and listening to all the girls play the Hannah Montana game was worth the trip. I even enjoyed the hours I spent playing cake mania on the Nintendo DS. Abby spent the entire 1st day of the new year in bed reading, listening to music and playing Nintendo, Ann eventually made her go take a shower. I only saw Will hit his head three times. It was a great trip.

The view from our camper!

Sunrise at the beach...I had to go to the bathroom...that's the only reason I was up.

Abby in bed all day!

Ansley has got some talent! She didn't go outside the lines.

Will doing what he does best. Eat.

Grace in her own private indoor pool.
